Product Description

KANZAKI®FR901 is a high-performance environmentally friendly flame retardant developed by the KANZAKI brand for PVC, rubber, and high-requirement engineering plastic flame-retardant systems.

Compared with conventional flame retardants, KANZAKI®FR901 focuses more on the balance between flame-retardant efficiency, low-smoke performance, processing stability, and overall finished-product performance. It helps materials form a more stable and denser flame-retardant protective system during combustion, thereby improving self-extinguishing performance, smoke suppression, and overall fire safety.

KANZAKI®FR901 is suitable for industrial formulation systems with high requirements for environmental compliance, flame-retardant rating, low-smoke performance, and long-term stability. It is especially suitable for export-grade wires and cables, building materials, plastic profiles, rubber sheathing, and high-end flame-retardant products.

Flame Retardant Mechanism

During the initial stage of combustion, KANZAKI®FR901 can promote the formation of a denser and more stable char protective layer on the material surface, reducing oxygen penetration into the material and lowering the release rate of combustible gases.

Under high-temperature combustion conditions, KANZAKI®FR901 works synergistically with the flame-retardant system to reduce the heat release intensity in the combustion zone and suppress continuous flame spread.

At the same time, KANZAKI®FR901 helps improve dripping issues during combustion and enhances the stability of the flame-retardant system, allowing the material to achieve better self-extinguishing performance after flame removal and lower smoke release.

Processing Information

◆ Recommended processing temperature: 170–210°C
◆ Suitable for PVC extrusion, internal mixing, open mill mixing, rubber compounding, and engineering plastic modification processes
◆ Ensure sufficient material dispersion to obtain more stable flame-retardant performance and better appearance
◆ Avoid prolonged residence at high temperatures to prevent localized overheating and potential impact on material performance
◆ Formulation adjustments are recommended according to different resin systems, filler ratios, product thicknesses, and flame-retardant rating requirements
KANZAKI®FR901 has good thermal stability and processing adaptability within standard PVC, rubber, and some engineering plastic processing windows


Recommended Dosage

PVC Systems:

◆ Recommended dosage: 6–12 phr
◆ Can be adjusted according to flame-retardant rating, product thickness, filler ratio, and formulation system
◆ For higher flame-retardant efficiency and more stable V-0 performance, it can be used together with KANZAKI flame retardant synergist KANZAKI®FS430


Rubber Systems:

◆ Recommended dosage: 8–18 phr
◆ Suitable for flame-retardant rubber sheathing, sealing parts, soft flame-retardant products, etc.
◆ Formulation optimization is recommended according to rubber type, plasticizer system, filler system, and testing standards


Engineering Plastic Systems:

◆ Recommended dosage: 8–15 phr
◆ Small-scale trials are recommended first to evaluate dispersibility, mechanical properties, thermal stability, and flame-retardant rating performance



Important Notes

1. KANZAKI®FR901 is a high-performance environmentally friendly flame retardant. Please use it rationally according to actual application requirements.

2. Different resin systems, filler ratios, product thicknesses, and processing conditions may affect the final flame-retardant performance.

3. Small-scale and pilot trials are recommended before use to confirm flame-retardant rating, processing stability, and finished-product performance.

4. Seal the package properly after use to prevent moisture absorption.

5. For customers with higher requirements for low smoke, non-dripping, or high-level flame retardancy, it is recommended to test KANZAKI®FR901 together with KANZAKI flame retardant synergist KANZAKI®FS430 to obtain a more efficient and stable flame-retardant system.

◆ Packaging: 25 kg / bag
◆ Transportation: Handled as a general chemical product
◆ Storage: Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place
◆ Avoid direct sunlight, rain, and high-humidity environments
◆ Use as soon as possible after opening. Any unused material should be resealed properly.
